![]() Veronica has been working in private practice since 1996 and during this time has advised around 2,000 families. From 1998-2001 she was the Consultant Psychologist at Fairley House School (catering for pupils with Specific Learning Difficulties). Between 1988 and 1996 Veronica worked as an Educational Psychologist for two of London's Local Education Authorities. Before becoming an Educational Psychologist, Veronica taught in both mainstream and special schools. The latter catered for pupils with emotional and behavioural difficulties and pupils with serious physical disabilities. Veronica has extensive experience - personal as well as professional - of all stages of education in both state and independent schools. She finds these experiences very helpful when working with and advising parents; they certainly provide a useful reality check! Veronica has grown up children and step children and a growing number of grandchildren. They too provide a useful reminder of the reality of bringing up children and overseeing their education. Veronica has a degree in Psychology from Bedford College, London University 1979-1982, a Post Graduate Certificate in Education from the West London Institute of Education (1984) and a Master's degree from University College, London University. She has run many training days and sessions for whole school staffs. Topics have covered: managing and understanding difficult behaviour, communication with parents, developing children’s thinking skills, reading and the reading process, dyslexia, dyspraxia , motivation, language and more. She is fully chartered and is registered with the HPC. |
