Julia has been working as an Educational Psychologist for over ten years. During this time she has gained extensive experience in both the state and private sectors. She has worked with a large county Education Authority and also as a Consultant Educational Psychologist with Dyslexia Action (formerly the Dyslexia Institute)

Julia has provided support and advice to parents and families on a variety of issues including behaviour, emotional intelligence and general learning strategies. Julia has a particular interest and expertise in the area of Specific Learning Difficulties as well as speech and language development; while Julie was in her role as a county LEA psychologist she had special responsibility for the Authority’s speech and language units as well as their Specific Learning Difficulty bases.

Before Julia trained as an Educational Psychologist she worked, for seven years, as a classroom teacher.

Julia has two young children and is very aware of issues in parenting, juggling priorities and all the related joys and pressures.

Julia has a master’s degree in Educational Psychology from the Tavistock clinic, a PGCE from the Institute of Education and an undergraduate psychology honours degree. She is fully chartered and is registered with the HPC
