Lorna has been working as an Educational Psychologist since she qualified in 2002. Prior to that she worked, for four years, as a Special Educational Needs teacher and Special Needs Co-ordinator in North London.

Lorna has subsequently worked with two education authorities. She has also taken her expertise as an EP back into school where she has worked for several years as an EP/Special Educational Needs Coordinator. In this role she has had extensive experience of working with parents, teachers and pupils. She has hands on experience of developing programmes for, and advising teachers of, pupils and young people experiencing Specific learning difficulties. Lorna has experience and expertise in supporting the needs of pupils with autistic difficulties.

Lorna has developed workshops for Key Stage 3 and 4 focusing on learning styles and preparation for examinations. She has developed materials for Emotional Literacy programmes and developing study skills.

Lorna has written two books which focus on developing young people’s Emotional Literacy and the third publication centres on developing study skills.

Lorna has Master’s degrees in Educational Psychology and the Psychology of Education both from the Institute of Education, University of London. She has a Post Graduate Certificate in Education (PGCE) with QTS and a Foundation Certificate in Psychotherapy and Counselling from the School of Psychotherapy and Counselling, at Regent’s College. Lorna is studying for a doctorate in Child and Educational Psychology. She is fully chartered and HPC Registered.
